To study this subject you will need at least a Grade 7 in GCSE Physical Education.

You must also have an interest in the broad spectrum of sport and must be an active participant in a team or club outside of school.

What will you learn?

A comprehensive blend of scientific, psychological and sociological theory, alongside practical application to enhance performance. The course aims to develop a deep understanding of how the mind and body function in sport, and how to analyse and improve performance, and the role of sport in society.

Course Components

You will take a lead role in assessing their competence as a performer or coach, developing a comprehensive understanding of elite performances. You will be encouraged to review your current participation and performance in Sport.

You will cover a range of subject areas including anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, sports psychology, exercise physiology, skill acquisition, historical and contemporary studies and data analysis.

Sports Facilities at EHS

Within our 14-acre site, we have a heated indoor swimming pool, a large gym, a fitness suite for all ability levels, an all-weather flood lit astro surface for hockey, netball and tennis, an athletics track and a cricket square. Our outdoor facilities also include a variety of playing fields, a sports pavilion and the school allotment.
