To study this subject, you'll need at least a Grade 7 in GCSE Mathematics and English Language.

What will you learn?

You will develop the knowledge and skills needed to analyse data, think critically about issues and make informed decisions – all skills that are needed for further study and employment.

Course Components

This covers the topics of business objectives, business forms and stakeholders, marketing management and financial management.

This covers the topics of people management, operations management and managing business culture.

This covers the topics of business in society, business and the external environment and strategy and change (A-Level only).

  • The impact of digital technology on business
  • The influence of ethical and environmental issues on business decisions
  • The external environment of business
  • The importance of the context of business in relation to decision-making
  • Strategic planning
  • How business activities affect competitiveness
  • The interrelated nature of business activities
  • Use of non-quantitative and quantitative data in decision-making (including the interpretation of index numbers and calculations such as ratios and percentages)
