To study this subject, you'll need at least a Grade 7 in GCSE Art.

What will you learn?

A-Level Art is a creative, practical course where you explore ideas, develop your own style, and build a portfolio of work. You’ll experiment with a wide range of materials and techniques, from drawing, painting, and sculpture to photography, printmaking, and digital media.

Course Components

You will follow the general course unless there are good reasons for them to focus on one particular area of study.

You will be offered the chance to place their own work within a broader context and to learn from the experiences of others.

Coursework will consist of a range of work completed in the Graphic Communication/Fine Art areas to reflect each candidate’s chosen focus of study. 

Sketchbook Development

Externally-set Assignment

A range of questions/starting points is set by the board. An outcome is produced following a period of preparation in which ideas and images can be developed in sketchbooks.
