Bursaries & Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded in recognition of a girl’s academic ability and potential, based on her entrance assessment and interview. Bursaries are also available to support with fees.

Bursaries

A bursary, on the other hand, is a means-tested award, designed to help families who have limited resources.

Scholarships

Scholarships can be worth up to 50% of school fees, but they aren't related to the financial means of the girl’s family.

Bursaries at EHS

The School Governors are committed to ensuring that children who meet the academic criteria for entry can access the exceptional education offered at Edgbaston High School. Through the School’s Bursary Fund, eligible families are given the opportunity to apply for financial support, helping to remove financial barriers and widen access to an Edgbaston High School education.

Bursaries are available at key entry points - Year 3, Year 7 and Year 12 - and applications are open to both current pupils and external candidates at the relevant stage prior to entry into the bursary year. To find out more about eligibility, assessment criteria and the application process, please download our Fee Remission Guide.
