Course Content
The subject content for French, German and Spanish is organised around six broad themes which provide contexts for the acquisition of vocabulary and the study of grammar and structures. The themes are:
- My Personal World
- Lifestyle & Wellbeing
- My Neighbourhood
- Media & Technology
- Studying & My Future
- Travel & Tourism
Examinations
25% weighting eachExaminations in all four skills will be taken at the end of the GCSE course:
- Paper One – Speaking
- Paper Two – Listening
- Paper Three – Reading
- Paper Four – Writing
There is the possibility to sit the examination at either Foundation or Higher tier. Students must be entered for a single tier across all papers. The speaking assessments are conducted and recorded in school. The recordings are then submitted to the examination board for marking.
