Examinations in all four skills, each with a 25% weighting, will be taken at the end of the GCSE course:

- Paper 1 – Speaking
- Paper 2 – Listening
- Paper 3 – Reading
- Paper 4 – Writing

There is the possibility to sit the examination at either Foundation or Higher tier. Students must be entered for a single tier across all papers. The speaking assessments are conducted and recorded in school. The recordings are then submitted to the examination board for marking.
