Course Content and Assessment

This specification offers a linear route to International GCSE Mathematics. You will develop knowledge and skills in the following areas: 

  • Numbers and the number system
  • Equations, formulae and identities
  • Sequences, functions and graphs
  • Geometry and trigonometry
  • Vectors and transformation geometry
  • Statistics and probability

2hrs 50% of grade each

The assessment objectives for the course are distributed as per the below.

Approx. 60% weighting

AO1 focuses on demonstrating knowledge, understanding, and skills in number and algebra, which includes topics like numbers and the numbering system, calculations, solving numerical problems, equations, formulae, identities, sequences, functions, and graphs.

Approx. 25% weighting

AO2 requires demonstrating knowledge, understanding, and skills in shape, space, and measures, covering geometry and trigonometry, vectors, and transformation geometry.

Approx. 15% weighting

AO3 is about demonstrating knowledge, understanding, and skills in handling data, specifically statistics and probability.
