What is it and how does it work

Academic Advocacy is a structured support programme for Sixth Form students designed to ensure they remain on track with their studies and achieve their potential. This model is based on supervision at University and with mentorship programmes.

Beyond academic monitoring, it fosters independent learning, study skills, and personal responsibility, while offering pastoral guidance where relevant.

Academic Advocacy builds stronger communication between students, staff, and parents by providing regular updates and follow-up on agreed actions.

Each student meets weekly with an Academic Advocate—a teacher who monitors progress, provides personalised guidance, and ensures any barriers to learning are addressed.
