Student version of The Tempest receives praise

20 January 2017

Last term, we brought to you news of a group of students who took part in the Shakespeare Schools Festival at the Midlands Arts Centre. Our Drama Scholar, Hannah Lait, directed the girls’ version of ‘The Tempest’ in a creative and exciting piece of ensemble performance.

We are delighted to have received recently a glowing appraisal of the performance from the festival’s Stage Director, Nick Sutcliffe, who commended the cast on their work and creativity.

Mr Sutcliffe commented: “There was fantastic focus from the entire cast and by staying on throughout it meant that no one had anywhere to hide. You were all so dedicated to telling this story in the clearest way possible.

“The audience understood every stage of it because of your clarity. This was a brilliantly told story with bold performances throughout - congratulations!” Read the appraisal in full.

Well done once again, girls, for all the hard work that you put in to make this production such a success.
