On Friday 3rd March, Year 6 Netball Squad went to St. John’s College in Portsmouth for a weekend of netball. It was a three hour drive during which the girls practised songs for the Lion King production.
When they arrived the girls had fun doing ten pin bowling after which they visited the beach trying hard not to get their trainers wet. They moved on to the Holiday Inn where they enjoyed a lovely three course meal.
On Saturday morning at 7.30 am they had breakfast and then set off to St. John’s for the tournament. After a long day of netball the results were a very pleasing second place for the A Team and third place for the B Team. A huge well done to Priya who was named Player of the Tournament by staff and girls involved. All girls played extremely well and demonstrated great sportsmanship.
Later in the day there was the opportunity to visit the Spinnaker Tower, a famous landmark and to shop.
On the last day EHS and St. John’s played a morning of netball in mixed teams. They were able to renew friendships made in November when the Portsmouth girls visited Edgbaston.
The girls would like to thank Miss Dawes, Mrs Aston and Mrs Woodfield for making the trip one they will all remember.
