News from Head of Prep

This week has been no exception and it was simply wonderful to welcome so many grandparents into the school on Thursday for our inaugural Grandparents Day. School was bursting at the seams with smiling faces as the girls had the opportunity to show their grandparents around the school. There were visits to the classroom, exercise books shared and lessons enjoyed. The day rounded off with a chance for tea and cake in the Prep Hall. All of the girls were treated to a special 'EHS biscuit' as not everyone had a grandparent in school to join them. However, if the smiles and laughter were anything to go by, it certainly was a resounding success.

Elsewhere in school, girls have been immersing themselves in their learning. Our Year Three girls enjoyed a fabulous curriculum trip to Lunt Roman Fort and returned to schools with tales of Roman conquests and secret codes. They enthusiastically shared stories of their hands on learning with me and I know that they will be inspired to continue their learning in the classroom and beyond.

On Friday, it was wonderful to see our Macmillan Coffee Morning so well attended. Pain au Chocolat, hot chocolate, tea and coffee were enjoyed before school and we are extremely grateful to the generous support the event received from our families. In assembly, I spoke with the girls about the importance of giving back to those who were less fortunate than us and we reflected on the responsibility that privilege and a safe, healthy environment within which to grow up brings.

With the weeks flying by, I have been incredibly proud to see our EHS values being demonstrated in every corner of the school. With such aspiration and excellence in evidence, there is much to be celebrated.
