On Wednesday 3 June the Classics Department took Year 7 on a trip to see the Roman villa at Chedworth and the Corinium museum in Cirencester.

The girls were given a tour of the villa and enjoyed seeing the highlights of the villa, like the nymphaeum and the remains of the bathhouse.

At the villa the girls had the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities. They created their own mosaics, tried to build a stable bridge and played authentic Roman board games. The girls had a lot of fun completing these activities alongside the chance to dress up in Roman costume.

It was time for a treasure hunt at the Corinium museum where the girls were tasked with finding specific objects, as well as taking in the artefacts found in Roman Britain. This cohort of Year 7 was incredibly meticulous and it was wonderful seeing them helping each other to find the artefacts around the museum.

We are thrilled the girls enjoyed their day, there is nothing like seeing the classical world coming to life outside the classroom!
