As we celebrated Year 11 heading off on study leave on Tuesday, it was a delight to be able to award three well-deserved Hayday Awards. In Religious Studies we present the ‘Hayday Award’ in memory of Miss Hayday.
It’s awarded termly to the GCSE RS student who we feel embodies some of the spirit and character that Miss Hayday brought to life at EHS.
Alongside an enthusiasm for stretching the minds of students, Miss Hayday had a remarkable ability to make every student feel known and valued. With that in mind, we were delighted to present this award to the following students:
Isla – for consistently demonstrating a dedicated work ethic, as well as her tenacity in developing and improving her exam technique. Her verbal contributions always show a genuine interest and enthusiasm for the subject.
Layla – for always coming to lessons with a smile on her face and an enthusiastic attitude. She is willing to take risks in her learning, showing determination to understand and make progress, as well as becoming an expert at learning and applying religious teachings.
Hajrah – for her ability to ask challenging questions and share insightful reflections on the ethical topics studied this year. She consistently goes beyond the specification content, applying her learning to a wider context, a rare talent.
