Opportunities have been in abundance across the Prep School this week.

The start of a child's educational journey is such an important one. It is about ensuring the foundations are secure and the building blocks are in place for future success. Academic success is marked by examinations grades at GCSE, A-level and beyond, but in order for a child to reach their true potential they must be supported at an early age to develop a love of learning and an inner confidence.

This week, I have been reminded of just how many opportunities our Prep girls have available to them. It was wonderful to welcome our Kindergarten families into school to enjoy a Gymnastics Showcase. The girls have been working hard under the watchful eye of the wonderful Mrs Hewison and Miss Anthony who have been instrumental in developing the girls' gymnastics skills this year. It was hard to believe these were three and four year olds walking across the floor in the gymnasium with such poise and confidence.

Equally impressive was the tremendous Year Six production which has taken place this week. For our Year Six girls, who are reaching the end of their time with us within the Prep School and are preparing for the next stage of their educational journey, it was an incredible team effort. The girls truly embodied the EHS spirit of 'fearlessly female' with an energetic and dynamic performance. My grateful thanks go to Mr Skilbeck and the entire Year Six team for their vision which ensured every girl felt valued and an integral part of the show.

With the sun shining this week, the girls have loved the opportunity to take part in a plethora of outdoor activities. The Rugby festival on Thursday was a great success and our before school sports clubs including Mini Athletics and Running Club have been hugely popular. Preparations for the EHS 150th Birthday Fair are in full swing and we look forward to welcoming family and friends to the event, which promises to be a truly memorable one.

Warmest wishes for the weekend,

Mrs N Hobson
