Year 7 students have been enthusiastically exploring the fascinating world of codes and cyphers in their Computing lessons. Throughout this topic, they have developed their problem-solving and logical thinking skills by learning how to decode a variety of different cypher texts.
To bring their learning to life, students took part in an exciting escape room experience. This activity was designed to test their newly acquired skills in a fun, fast-paced environment. Working both independently and collaboratively, they were tasked with solving a series of coded clues under pressure, applying everything they had learned in class.
The challenge came with a twist: it was a race against time to prevent all of the chocolate from falling into the hands of Mr Downie! This added an extra layer of excitement and motivation, encouraging students to think quickly, communicate effectively, and persevere through tricky problems.
The escape room proved to be a fantastic way to consolidate learning, with students fully engaged and eager to put their knowledge into practice. It was wonderful to see such teamwork, resilience, and enthusiasm on display, and many students successfully managed to crack the codes just in time!
Well done to Year 7 for their excellent effort and for embracing this challenge with such energy and determination.
