News from Head of Prep

Our final week of the Spring term has been one filled with celebrations. I have encouraged both pupils and staff to reflect on what has been an action-packed term. I shared a story in our final assembly of a small sunflower seed who dreamt of the day it would grow into a tall, strong sunflower standing proudly amidst the school grounds. Throughout the seed’s journey, it had faced challenges along the way. But with determination and resilience, it had embodied the spirit of growth and perseverance. 

Life is full of challenge, but it is how we embrace and overcome challenges that is key. Whilst we have celebrated success this week, we have also looked at how we can support the young people in our care to learn from their mistakes, so that they are well-prepared for the future. 

There has been so much taking place in every corner of the school this week. I am incredibly fortunate to be able to witness the academic challenge, the nurturing environment and the creative thinking that takes place in school on a daily basis. Our real strength is our girls – young women who are eager to make the most of every opportunity. I am incredibly proud of the value added our school provides and the way in which we provide choice for our families when they leave us at the end of Year Six. 

As we approach the Easter break, I have encouraged the girls to read and write for pleasure, to aim to beat their Times Tables Rockstars score and to get outside and ride their bike. But I also hope they have an opportunity to rest and reflect in preparation for an exciting Summer term ahead.
