We are delighted to share some exciting news about former student Polly Starkie, who is currently in her final year at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Polly, who has long aspired to study and work abroad, recently applied for the highly competitive Erasmus Mundus Programme Master’s degree in Journalism. We are thrilled to announce that she has not only been offered a place, but has also been awarded a full scholarship.

This is an outstanding achievement. Out of approximately 700 applicants, only 90 places were available, with just 10 scholarships awarded. The scholarship covers all tuition fees as well as a generous living allowance. This success reflects not only Polly’s talent, but also the dedication she has shown in building her journalism portfolio and gaining valuable work experience over the past five years.

Polly will study on the Erasmus Mundus MA in Journalism, Media and Globalisation. During the first year, all students in the programme will be based at Aarhus University in Aarhus. In the second year, students move to partner universities across Europe. Polly has secured her first-choice destination and will continue her studies at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München in Munich.

Reflecting on her success, Polly said:
“I am incredibly excited and honoured to have been accepted onto the Erasmus Mundus Masters Programme. I am looking forward to the opportunity to live in two different countries, study with a cohort from all over the world and further develop my interests, many of which started at EHS. I can’t wait to see what opportunities lie ahead in Denmark and Germany.”

We are incredibly proud of Polly and all that she has achieved. Her journey is an inspiration to current students, and we are sure that her time at EHS helped build the confidence and ambition needed to take this exciting next step. We look forward to following her journey, and perhaps even hearing about visits to Denmark and Germany along the way!
