Pupils across the Prep School first auditioned within their houses, earning valuable house points for their performances. The finest musicians from each year group then progressed to the grand final, held in the Octagon, where they performed in front of their peers, teachers and families.
This year’s competition was adjudicated by the distinguished musician and educator Tony May, whose thoughtful feedback and encouragement made the event both valuable and inspiring for all involved. It was a pleasure to listen to the finalists, each of whom demonstrated impressive musical skill, confidence and expressive performance.
The standard of performances was exceptionally high, making the adjudication no easy task. Congratulations to our year group winners:

A special congratulations goes to our Overall Prep Musician of the Year:
Jessie Liu – Piano, Scherzo by Ludwig van Beethoven.
Jessie impressed the adjudicator with a confident and musical performance, demonstrating excellent control, expressive phrasing and a strong sense of character throughout the piece.
Well done to all students who took part and contributed to such a wonderful celebration of music. We are incredibly proud of the dedication and enthusiasm shown by our young musicians and look forward to hearing even more fantastic performances in next year’s competition.
