To celebrate World Book Day, Prep immersed themselves in a plethora of activities to unleash the power of reading.
Helping our girls develop a lifelong love of reading is something we are extremely passionate about in the Prep school, so World Book Day was a wonderful opportunity for the whole school to immerse themselves in a plethora of book related activities.
Staff and students had gone to great lengths to ensure they came to school dressed as book characters with SLT leading the way as characters from Alice in Wonderland! Girls took part in a book swap which provided an opportunity for earnest discussions about the merits of different books. But our House Competition whereby the girls were tasked with turning a potato into a character from a book was a highlight of the day for many.
The creations were remarkable and, what is even more pleasing, is that the girls have been tasked with planting their potatoes in their gardens at home so that they can grow 'story potatoes'! We look forward to seeing the fruits of their labour later on in the year!
