The day began with a warm welcome and breakfast alongside current Year 12 and Year 13 students, creating a friendly, relaxed setting where visitors could ask questions, make new connections, and feel at ease from the start. Students then enjoyed a range of engaging taster lessons, giving them the chance to explore possible A Level subjects, meet teaching staff, and gain a clear understanding of teaching styles and expectations.
Throughout the day, students also had the opportunity to experience the wider Sixth Form environment, including spending time in the Sixth Form café, The Edge, and enjoying the school’s beautiful surroundings. At lunchtime, many students took a visit to the Botanical Gardens, making the most of the school’s unique setting, before returning for informal talks with current Year 12 students, who shared their experiences and helpful advice.
Overall, the Taster Day gave Year 11 students valuable insight into Sixth Form life at EHS, leaving them feeling confident and excited about their next steps. We look forward to welcoming students back on Thursday 25 June for the Sixth Form Induction Day and wish them every success in their upcoming GCSEs.
