On Tuesday 7 October, a group of our Year 11 Religious Studies students had the exciting opportunity to visit the Birmingham Central Mosque as part of their GCSE studies.
The trip was organised to help bring their classroom learning on Islamic beliefs and practices to life, and it certainly delivered. The group was warmly welcomed by Mr Ali, their knowledgeable and engaging guide, who shared passionately about his faith and the role it plays in daily life.
Students asked a wide range of thoughtful questions during the visit, covering topics such as the importance of the Five Pillars of Islam, the concept of predestination, and what Muslims believe happens after death. Mr Ali responded with great insight and clarity, helping to deepen the students’ understanding of key religious concepts in a real-world context.
Both students and staff thoroughly enjoyed the experience, finding it not only educational but also inspiring. The knowledge gained during the visit will no doubt support the students in their lessons and as they prepare for their upcoming exams.
We’re grateful to Birmingham Central Mosque for their warm hospitality and for helping to make learning come alive outside the classroom.
