On Monday 8 June Year 8 set off for Barton Hall near Torquay in Devon on their Team Building residential. After a long but chatty coach journey EHS had arrived.

Students took part in many different activities during the few days we were there. It was a busy time full of fun and laughter. Many girls overcame fears such as heights when abseiling. The “Giant Swing” proved to be a challenge but with excellent teamwork and cooperation EHS mastered it! Other activities required team work too such as climbing, canoeing and Axe throwing.

Students were all placed in different teams which enabled lots of time and opportunities to make new friends. All the PGL instructors were very experienced and great fun. They encouraged students through activities during the trip and taught them some of the infamous PGL songs. They were ably assisted by teachers who also got “stuck in” to all activities on offer, including Mrs Stockdale who loved her time in her canoe!

The highlight of the trip for many girls was that we were able to complete the Trapeze challenge. Evenings were fun too, after dinner students took part in different activities such as the Silent disco and enjoyed all being together at the Camp Fire. There was a lot of space to wonder around and explore with a few places to buy sweets and PGL goodies.

Girls in the year group said it was one of the best trips that they had ever been on!

Thanks to all the staff who took us on this trip.
