We are incredibly proud to celebrate one of our pupils whose love of reading and writing has become a published book. This achievement brings our EHS values to life - creativity, courage and perseverance, driven by aspirations and delivered with excellence.
Year five pupil, Jashvita, has brought a dream to life and published her first book, Nina and the Pink Slinky Portal. We caught up with her in an interview to ask her about the book, but don't worry, there are no spoilers.
What inspired you to write your book and where did the idea come from?
"The idea came from the children at my school because they all love reading books. I thought, if everyone loves books, why don't I write one myself...?"
What is the book about?
"My book is about two sisters going on an adventure on the beach, when suddenly they touch a toy that takes them back in time."
When did you get the idea to write a book?
"I got the idea when I was really, really young, but then it actually came true when I was 9."
What was the most challenging part of writing the book?
"I had to think a lot about the words, if children would understand them, and about imagination."
What advice would you give to other children who might be thinking about writing a book?
"Just go for it! Even though you have a blank sheet of paper, just keep on writing."
Congratulations, Jashvita. The book is available for purchase on Amazon.
