On Friday 19 September, parents were welcomed into school for our much-loved Awards Afternoon for Years 8–11, a highlight of the EHS calendar and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our girls.
The ceremony opened with a warm introduction from Headmistress, Mrs Clare Macro, and a moving performance of Ubi Caritas by the Chamber Choir. Over the course of the afternoon, more than 200 awards were presented, recognising outstanding academic achievement as well as effort, progress and creativity across the curriculum. Special cups added further sparkle, celebrating excellence in art, drama, music, sport and languages.
A highlight of the afternoon was a solo violin performance of Allegro Brillante by Eleanor Wongso, which captivated the audience, alongside an inspiring address from Deputy Head Academic, Miss Kamal Purewal.
The event concluded with refreshments in the Octagon Link, giving families, pupils and staff the chance to come together and share in the excitement of the afternoon. It was a fitting end to an occasion that celebrates not only achievement, but also the values and spirit that make EHS such a special community.
