Life as a Laurels Association Member

With a membership of over 4,500 which extends through Europe, Canada, the US and Australia, the Association takes seriously its role of communicating with and serving alumnae by arranging reunions, opportunities to visit the School and organising social events.

Join the Association

Students attending Edgbaston High are invited to take up life membership of the LA when they leave at the end of Sixth Form. Former students of the School who left before this system of membership began or who elected not to participate in the scheme are warmly invited to join us.

Life Membership privileges include an e-magazine, and access to former students' contact details (permissions required). Many former members of staff are staunch supporters of the LA and reunions are a wonderful opportunity to bring generations of EHS teachers and girls together.

We have a termly e-newsletter, our Laurels News Bulletin, which alerts you to forthcoming events, requests for information and small doses of nostalgia!

Our Amazing Archive Wall

Designed by the former Head of Art, Martin Dukes, the Archive Wall is a unique record of EHS from its earliest days.Using photographs from the school archives, it is cleverly put together by interposing colour and black and white pictures of girls playing sport, working in classrooms and laboratories, playing and singing in the school concerts and carol service.

The whole spectrum of school life over the past 147 years is visually brought to life and serves as a permanent record of the rich and vibrant history of EHS. The centre-piece of the mural is a recent whole school photograph.

Giving Back to EHS

Edgbaston High School is committed to providing its pupils with the highest quality education, preparing them for life beyond EHS by equipping them with the necessary skills and attitude to embrace challenge and forge a rewarding career. This is achieved through an energetic and encouraging approach to the full education and development of each individual and by wide commitment to the strong community at the School's heart. To meet that challenge it we must invest in all aspects of the school, and invest in the girls.

EHS does not have an endowment or reserves to call on and is completely reliant on fee income and fundraising to support significant new developments. We are a school with bold ambitions for the future and we are grateful to all supporters throughout the school community including Old Girls, the EHS Parents' Association, current and former parents, and staff.

There are numerous ways you can support EHS, whether it’s sharing your expertise with current pupils by leading a workshop or giving a talk via the new Athena Network, donating to our new Opportunities Award or leaving a Legacy donation. Your support will make a difference and we are always keen to hear from you.

Gifts to the Old Girls' Association will continue to serve the alumni of the school and it is a pleasure to know that your ability to 'give back' will continue for years into the future.
