As we reach the end of this busy and energetic term, I want to take a moment to reflect on all that has been achieved.
There have been fantastic musical and theatrical performances, sporting successes, fabulous creative output, wonderful charitable events, multiple trips and workshops, and of course the continuation of excellent teaching and learning. It has been a real pleasure to see so many of these events unfold across the term, and I hope you have enjoyed the new format of sharing news with you. It is always good to celebrate all that the girls achieve, and to showcase the breadth of opportunities and talents within our school community.
There have been so many highlights, but what stands out most is seeing our girls, from the youngest to the oldest, perform and lead with such confidence and enjoyment. Across every age group, they are developing the skills they need to be happy, successful, and ready for whatever they choose to do in life. I am immensely proud of all our girls and staff, who work tirelessly to create an environment where everyone can grow and flourish.
This year is particularly special as Edgbaston High School for Girls celebrates its 150th birthday. This milestone is a testament to our long-standing commitment to empowering girls and preparing them for the future. To mark this occasion, we are planning a very special event in April: The Fearless Fayre. This will be a celebration of what it means to be Fearlessly Female; bringing together our whole community for a day of family fun, fairground rides, and exciting activities. It will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate this incredible school and everything it stands for. More details will follow in the new year, and we cannot wait to share this exciting day with you.
Before closing, I want to thank you all for the kindness and respect you have shown the community and the family of Mr Malone after we shared the news of his passing. His dedication and warmth enriched the lives of so many students and staff; his passion for teaching and his kindness will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. We have passed on all the messages that we have received to his family, and I know that they will treasure the memories that have been shared. Our thoughts remain with his family at this difficult time.
Finally, thank you for your support throughout the term and for attending the many events on offer; it has been wonderful to see so many of you in school. I hope you all enjoy a safe, peaceful, and restful holiday period, and I look forward to welcoming your daughters back in January for another inspiring term.
