Minibeast Madness
01 July 2016
The cross-curricular project for this term in Year 2 has been minibeasts. The girls have extended their knowledge and their skills in a number of areas of the curriculum.
On Tuesday afternoon, an excited Year 2 set off to entertain an audience at Hagley Village, a local retirement community, with their concert "Mad about Minibeasts!" They recited poems, explained facts and sang songs about these tiny creatures.
After the performance the girls were treated to squash and a biscuit and an impromptu walkabout and chat with the audience. The staff were so proud of their confidence and social skills. We made new friends and hope to be invited again next year.
There was an added interest for Sofia who met former EHS teacher, Miss Muffett who had taught her Grandmother.
The girls enjoyed the opportunity to perform their concert once again but this time to their parents and friends in the Octagon back at school.
Many thanks to Mrs Howell, Mr Bateman and the staff at Hagley Village.
