Preparatory

Welcome to the Preparatory Department of Edgbaston High School.

At Edgbaston High Prep, we seek to support girls to develop qualities and skills that will prepare them for a changing future.

Girls at Edgbaston High Prep are brimming with potential and it is a real privilege to help them grow. They are actively encouraged to embrace new experiences with the aim of uncovering and developing their own individual gifts and talents, and we love that they tackle each new challenge with vigour, whether that be in the science lab or on the sports field. All we ask is that they approach their learning journey with open-mindedness and enthusiasm.

We are proud of our academic successes and have a proven track record of guiding girls into the senior school of their choice. We are, however, much more than fantastic results and as such, attributes such as confidence and resilience are given much importance.

Girls are encouraged to develop leadership skills and have the opportunity to take on positions of responsibility, auditions for roles in productions and try out for teams. The Preparatory Department also has a strong musical and sporting tradition and here are a wide range of extracurricular activities available to all pupils irrespective of their ability levels - participation and enjoyment are the objectives!

With our Senior School on the same site, we are able to share a fully equipped gymnasium, swimming pool, large music school and the spacious ‘Octagon’ performance area.

I believe Edgbaston High School is special. It has a wonderfully supportive ethos which is almost tangible. Visitors to our school often comment on how confident and happy the girls are in their school environment. Please visit the school and talk to our pupils; they are our best ambassadors!
