EHS Swimmers Shine at National Finals
20 June 2025
On Saturday 14 June, four talented Year 6 swimmers – Eliza, Ellise, Arabella and Lara – travelled to Sheffield to compete in the ESSA Primary Championship National Finals.
Having qualified earlier this year in both the freestyle and mixed stroke relay events, reaching the national finals was already a tremendous achievement. The girls – some of whom train with external clubs and one who is trained exclusively through the EHS swimming programme – displayed exceptional determination and teamwork throughout the competition, reflecting the depth of talent and high-quality coaching at EHS.
In the freestyle relay heats, they delivered an impressive performance to earn a place in the ‘A’ final, finishing 6th in the country. After a short recovery, they returned to the pool for the mixed stroke relay heats and again excelled, securing a spot in the ‘A’ final and finishing 8th nationally.
They were cheered on by an enthusiastic group of family, friends, and members of the EHS community, both in Sheffield and watching from afar. The girls represented the school with spirit and pride and should be immensely proud of their success on the national stage.
