What are Cookies?
Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your device when you visit a website. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise a user's device, navigate between pages efficiently, remember your preferences, and generally improve the user experience.
There are three types of cookie used on the Edgbaston High site:
- Google Analytics Cookie: This cookie is used to anonymously track visitor behaviour such as the number of times a page is visited or the number and type of searches carried out via the search function. This information helps us to understand how the website is used.
- Visitor ID Cookie: The website's host company, Redwing, use this to anonymously track visitors' progress through the website, to help them locate and rectify any errors in the website operation.
- Session Cookie: This type of cookie is in place on the EHS website, and only used by visitors accessing any password-protected pages that may be set up on the site.
