News from Head of Prep
11 July 2025
This has been such a special Summer term for our girls. We have been blessed with memory-making weather and our PE Department have been thrilled to have had an entire term of outdoor Summer sport. We have made the most of our outside space and the girls are delighted that, this week, work started on the much-anticipated external Summer works. From September, the entire Prep School will have a wonderful sensory outdoor classroom gazebo. Our Reception girls will relocate to the Prep building and will make use of a wonderful outdoor classroom area which will allow for a free-flow teaching and learning environment.
This week, we have launched our 150th anniversary celebrations. It is such a privilege to be part of the EHS school community during such a pivotal time in our long history. We are well-placed to navigate the next 150 years and I know that everyone is looking forward to immersing themselves in celebrations during the forthcoming academic year.
The end of the academic year is one filled with mixed emotions, particularly for our Year Six girls who have reached the end of their time with us in Prep. It is an exciting time for these girls, but also a sad one too. For many of our girls, they have been with us since Nursery and the EHS values have been truly embedded into their school lives. I hope these values will remain with the girls whether they are moving up to EHS Senior School or onto pastures new.
As I reflect on the past academic year, I can say with confidence that EHS girls are simply fabulous. They are fearlessly female. They are courageous and kind. They embrace challenge and support one another through failure. I am incredibly proud to lead such a wonderful Prep School and excited for the prospect of the new academic year to come.
Wishing all our EHS families a restful Summer break.
