On Wednesday, 5 February the girls in the Prep School had the opportunity to take part in World Read Aloud Day 2020.
For some girls this started in House Assembly first thing in the morning and there were many other opportunities to join in during lessons. Two stages were also set up in the Prep playground and 52 girls chose to bring a book to school and to read a section of this aloud to an audience during break or lunch time. The standard of reading was very impressive and girls from every year group in Prep took part.
Year 1 girls also welcomed Reception girls to their classrooms in Prep to read aloud to them. This was a lovely way to end the day joining other people from all around the world reading to each other.
It is clear that girls at EHS really enjoy reading, especially to an audience.
