Whole School Teatime Concert Autumn

Preparatory | Senior School

27 November 2020

Each term the Music School usually hosts Teatime Concerts for Year 3 and 4, Years 5 and 6 and the Senior School. This is an opportunity for all students, regardless of experience or ability, to perform solos and small ensemble pieces to an audience of family and friends. As this event cannot happen in person, individual performances were recorded in the Music School and edited together to form our first online Whole School Teatime Concert, showcasing talent from a full range of students at EHS. I would like to thank all of our students, teachers and accompanists for their hard work in the preparation of this event.

ABRSM recently commented on how far ahead of many other providers EHS has been in providing music tuition, despite the challenges, in a Covid secure environment. I would like to thank our visiting music teachers for their tireless efforts to provide lessons either online or in person for our girls this term.

When the Music School can finally return to normal, we will continue to provide a plethora of opportunities in a lively, vibrant and inspiring environment, supported by a wealth of talented, experienced musicians and visiting teachers.  Below are the music ensembles usually on offer at EHS, which we actively encourage all girls to attend. These have been replaced for the time being with Year Group Ensembles.

  • Chamber Choir (Senior School - by audition)
  • Prep Guitar Ensemble
  • Prep Orchestra
  • Prep String Group
  • Senior Choir
  • Senior Flute Group
  • Senior Guitar Ensemble
  • Senior Orchestra
  • Senior Recorder Ensemble
  • Senior String Ensemble
  • Years 1 and 2 Choir
  • Years 3 and 4 Choir
  • Years 5 and 6 Choir

We look forward to hearing more from our girls in their future live and pre-recorded online performances, including the Carol Services and EHSPA Tree Lighting this term.
