Warwick Drama Festival

On Friday, Sixth Form Classical Civilisation pupils attended the Warwick Drama Festival.
The girls thoroughly enjoyed lectures and seminars from leading academics in the field of ancient Greek theatre. They found Professor Michael Scott particularly engaging as he gave an overview of ancient Greek 4th and 5th century political history; this complemented both their Democracy and Greek Theatre papers.
The day ended with a performance of Aristophanes’ Assembly Women, a comedy about women taking control of the city because the men could not rule successfully. The girls
laughed and learned and now they cannot wait to read our own Greek comedy in lessons!
