School Birthday Celebrations

Preparatory

05 February 2021

Each year in January the whole school, from Nursery to Year 13, staff and girls gathers together to celebrate Edgbaston High School’s birthday.  This year was no exception although girls gathered on line to join in with the celebrations.

Members of the school community shared thoughts and memories of the school and how important the friendships we make at school are.

Mrs Bowler, who teaches in Westbourne, and Miss Robinson, Deputy Head of the Prep School both attended EHS as pupils and have returned as teachers at the school.  They both shared some special memories with everyone including some photographs from the archives.  They clearly enjoyed their school days.

Naomi, the Head Girl shared her thoughts about her favourite school trip to Germany.  This shows how things have changed as Miss Robinson was impressed that in her day they had been able to travel to Cadbury World.

The birthday celebrations also included music from Senior girls who sang, ‘The Greatest’, written for the occasion by Mr Southall.  The Prep girls massed choir sang ‘Happy Birthday Dear School’ and the assembly ended with the School Song performed beautifully by the Chamber Choir.

Many girls also celebrated with a range of creative activities by making birthday cakes and cards for the special event.

The strength of our school community was evident from the shared messages and we thank everyone who gave their time to contribute to the School’s Birthday.
