Pink Rose Week - A time for reflection

Westbourne | Preparatory | Senior School | Sixth Form

26 June 2020

Community, compassion and gratitude are integral elements of the EHS ethos.  It is with these qualities in mind that we hold our annual Pink Rose Week.  An opportunity to remember, reflect on and cherish memories of friends, colleagues and staff who have all made our time at Edgbaston High School special.  Typically, during this week, our school will bloom with pink roses, as staff, alumnae and pupils flood corridors and classrooms with the flowers.

As many of our community are still working remotely, we chose to mark the week in a different way this year.  Instead of pink roses filling the school over the course of week, we gathered reflections from alumnae and staff.   The warmth of these reflections unequivocally demonstrates the special place EHS and everyone in our community, past and present, are held by staff and alumnae alike.

As you may have seen from a previous Friday Headlines article, at the time of writing we have a peahen nesting in our Rose Garden.  This seems entirely fitting.  I am sure this would bring a smile to all those who we have been remembering so fondly this week.
