Having ended last week with lots of smiles on World Smile Day, we were happy to continue the theme as we marked #HelloYellow Day on Monday of this week.  Girls were invited to wear an accessory or two, in support of the mental health charity, Young Minds.  Our newly appointed Pastoral Mentors lead the assembly which focused on how to keep your minds as well as your bodies healthy.  They shared some suggestions and set everyone three challenges for the day.  They have also been busy selling copies of our Wellbeing Book, written by the girls for the girls for 50p each.  These have been on sale every day and it is not too late if girls would like to purchase their own copy.

We have also enjoyed welcoming parents into school this week for our first in person appointments for some time.  It has been positive meeting face to face rather than over zoom.

This week, Year 1 have put their Geography skills to good use with some fieldwork in the local area.  You can read about their work separately.

Wednesday brought another first of the term when our Year 6 House Captains held their House assemblies.  The chosen topic was porridge, as it was World Porridge Day and linked well with our harvest collections.  The Captains have worked hard to decorate their House boards and they are looking forward to supporting their Housemates during the year in the variety of competitions ahead.

We held our special Harvest Assembly on Thursday and we are grateful to everyone for their donation of produce which will be delivered to the Birmingham Crisis Centre.  A bumper crop indeed!

Next week is our last one of the half term, which has flown by.  We wish our girls well with their entrance examination to EHS Senior School on Monday after weeks of preparation.  We have flu immunisations on Tuesday and Wednesday is Wear it Pink Day.  We will certainly be ready for the half term break.
