Getting creative for Jeans for Genes Day

Senior School

27 September 2019

Last week, girls in Senior School embarked on fundraising activities to mark Jeans for Genes Day.

Charity reps from each year group spent their breaks and lunchtimes busily making denim hair scrunchies out of donated jeans and shirts. They worked well together in a production line, making as many scrunchies as possible to sell at Friday break time.

Friday arrived and the non-uniform day was awash with denim of every variety as pupils and staff donned their jeans, jeggings, dresses, pinafores, shirts and skirts in a variety of coloured denim shades.

The money raised will go to Jeans for Genes UK which is a charity that supports young people and children with genetic disorders. The charity provides support, treatment and specialist help from Jeans for Genes UK to allow the children to have opportunities and laughter throughout treatments, create a social life with likeminded people and also relief for family members who are full time carers.

Thank you so much for all the support and donations. Watch out for more charity events and follow us on Instagram for updates: @ehs_charity
