Farewell to Year 6!

Preparatory

08 July 2020

Year 6 girls have fully engaged with the remote learning since school closure and have clearly enjoyed the challenge.
Along with continuing their academic studies they have also enjoyed the opportunity to take part in a series of competitions over the past 5 weeks.

The girls have represented book characters from clay, made jewellery and bookmarks, taken photos, painted pebbles, tested their drawing skills, constructed models from recycled materials and produced outstanding pieces of handwriting. The teachers have been amazed by the standard of work produced and had the really hard job of judging the winners each week.  The accompanying pictures show just a snapshot of what has been produced.

It has been a hard time for them too as they have not been able to celebrate and mark the end of their time in the Prep School in the traditional ways.  We have however managed to sign shirts, attend a picnic and hold a special farewell assembly.  Their Yearbooks provided by the EHSPA and their Leavers hoodies will also serve as a good memory of their time in Prep.
New traditions have perhaps been created too in line with our on-line learning as the girls created a portfolio on Seesaw and posted selfies for everyone to add their best wishes to.  It has been very moving to read all of their tributes and their thoughts as they approach their move to their secondary schools.

We plan to hold an event to mark their time in Prep officially, when we are able to, but in the meantime we wish them all well on the next step of their educational journey.  We know they will achieve their goals.
Good luck Year 6.
