Donkey for Sale

Preparatory

09 December 2022

Wednesday morning brought great excitement for girls and parents from Westbourne as it was the day of the Christmas Production, ‘Donkey for Sale.’

The girls in Nursery, Kindergarten and Reception had all been working very hard to learn lines, songs and actions over the last few weeks and had visited the Octagon for rehearsals.

Everyone did very well and gave an excellent performance which delighted the audience of family and friends.  We were all amazed at how many songs they had learnt to tell the story of Elfie, the donkey who was sold to Mary and Joseph to take them to Bethlehem for the census.  He got very fed up with just walking and was pleased to reach the stable for a rest where he eventually realised something wonderful had happened.

The story was narrated by girls from Reception with performances by Nursery sheep, Kindergarten angels and shepherds, and wise men and individual characters also from Reception.

The girls really enjoyed performing for their parents which was clear from their waves and smiles for the audience.  The show will definitely be a highlight of everyone’s festive period.
