Project ASK careers talk for students

Senior School | Sixth Form

24 November 2017

On Wednesday 22 October, girls in Years 10 -13 attended a lunchtime talk on Degree Apprenticeships. The talk was delivered by Surfinia Foote, a representative from Project ASK, an organisation specialising in providing practical further education and careers advice to students.

Degree apprenticeships are a relatively new, and growing, initiative that provide an opportunity to gain a full Bachelor's or Master’s degree while being employed by leading companies in a wide variety of fields such as engineering, accounting, pharmacology and emerging technologies. Students earn a salary while they study and the degree is paid for by the employer.

'I really enjoyed the talk. Surfinia was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions well.' Simi, Year 11.

Girls had numerous questions about the scheme and we hope to invite Surfinia back to host a stand at our Careers Fair as part of the forthcoming Languages and Literature Day on 14 February 2018.
