BBC 'Fierce Women' Day for Year 13

Sixth Form

08 March 2019

Last week, Year 13 Media Studies students attended the BBC Fierce Women in Media day. The event was held at The Glee Club in central Birmingham and one of the event organisers, was our very own ex-deputy head girl Rachael Griffith, who left EHS in 2013.

We proudly watched Rachael at work, while enjoying panellists cover a range of questions on a variety of topics. The girls participated in a workshop ‘Ready, Steady, Go!’ about preparing for a career in media and two masterclasses ‘Women in Media’ and ‘Fierce Females: dominating the news agenda’.

Media students also, learnt more about the BBC’s apprenticeship schemes and the do’s and don’ts of applying for jobs at the BBC from their chief UK recruitment officer.

We continue to wish Rachael the best of luck in her job at the BBC and shall watch her career with interest.

Ms Jones-Owen
Head of Media Studies
