A Tudor Christmas

On Wednesday, we travelled back in time to Selly Manor during Tudor times. We were all welcomed by the Lord and Lady of the Manor to share a traditional Christmas with them.
The household staff shared much information with us about the medicinal qualities of the greenery used for decoration of the house. Others told us about the delicious meal that would be eaten and we now know we can blame the Tudors for introducing sprouts!
The girls sang traditional carols of the time and we enjoyed a mummers’ play about St George. The entertainment was rounded off with some stately Tudor dancing.
The girls had clearly worked hard as they were very confident in their performances which delighted the audience.
