Girls in Years 1 and 2 enjoyed a fantastic morning of cricket on the Astro on Tuesday, courtesy of All Stars Cricket Coaching.
They rotated between a variety of throwing and catching games and challenges, which they were able to take part in by themselves and with their friends. With batting and fielding games being a highlight of the morning, girls handled the bats and tested their technique with a variety of equipment. Teachers were impressed with the girls’ accuracy when hitting and the determination of the fielders when retrieving the ball and returning it to 'home'.
The free taster session gave pupils a flavour of the games and activities on offer to 5 – 8 year olds at local cricket clubs in surrounding areas. When asked who would like to take part in an All-Stars Cricket session on a weekday or evening the sea of hands that shot into the air, was testament to how much they had clearly enjoyed the experience.
