A Year 13 Prize Giving Ceremony to Remember

Sixth Form

07 July 2023

With the marquee in position, seating in place and the refreshments laid out, the scene was set for this year’s Year 13 Prize Giving Ceremony at the EHS playing fields.

Sir Dominic Cadbury, President of EHS, welcomed guests to the event and gave an introduction to the proceedings before handing over to the Sixth Form Leadership Team 2022 who gave their reflections on the past year in school.

We were treated to a beautiful flute solo from music scholar Zoha Sohail who performed ‘Reverie’ (C.Dubussy) and Year 13 student Gursharan read a poem.

Mrs Macro gave her address to the audience of students, parents, teachers and governors, commending Year 13 for being such a wonderful group, for all they have done for EHS and highlighting the legacy they will be leaving behind. It was followed by the presentation of the prestigious school cups and prizes.

Epper Xu, EHS Poet Laureate 2022, then recited her original poem, written for the occasion, and the Senior School Band performed ‘Love You I Do’ from the film Dream Girls, by H. Kreigar.

The ceremony culminated in the final presentation of Leavers Certificate and a boxed EHS silver brooch, a bespoke piece of jewellery crafted in the nearby Jewellery Quarter.

It was a truly joyful occasion: a time to celebrate all the girls have achieved during their time in school and all they have contributed to school life. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped to make this very special occasion. We wish Year 13 a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing them again on results day in August.
