What’s on in Westbourne

Westbourne

15 December 2021

Girls in Westbourne have been enjoying many festive end of term events and activities. One of the most popular was the Christmas Fair held at the end of last week.  The girls enjoyed ‘hook a bag’ with each bag containing a cuddly toy so every child won a prize. The other activities included guess the name of the elf, snowball throwing, making tree decorations and pin the nose on Rudolph. This fun all followed a visit to see Santa in the outdoor area. The play house had been given a festive make over specially for the visit.

We also enjoyed welcoming parents for hot chocolate and mince pies in the Outdoor Classroom before home time.

Friday brought Christmas lunch and our Penguin Parade in support of Marie Curie. The girls made special headbands and were greeted by two penguins in Prep as they paraded round the school.  Christy and Sofia, our Curie House captains were delighted to be part of the activity.  The girls in Years 1 – 6 enjoyed the parade too and cheered the penguins on their journey.

Tuesday this week, was 'Party Day' and everyone dressed up in their party dresses and played games in their classroom.  This was followed by a wonderful lunch complete with party food and crackers.  If Reception girls thought they could not complete any more Christmas artwork, they coloured in their own festive place mats, which brightened up the table!

The afternoon then brought a treat in the form of Major Mustard the puppeteer who entertained the children with his friendly puppets.

We hope the girls enjoy a well-earned holiday and we look forward to seeing them on back on January 6 and to next term’s activities.
