Girls in Year 5 have taken part in a virtual French Fashion Show with a little help from green screen technology. After studying the topic of clothes in school uniform, the girls were tasked with preparing a commentary of their uniform in French to include an accessory from home. Accessories ranged from sunglasses, caps and berets to cat slippers. The girls took great delight in watching the final edit. It was just like being at Paris Fashion Week.
Meanwhile Year 3 girls were whisked away to a virtual Parisian Café, again by the power of the green screen.They performed their conversations in pairs complete with beret, apron and props. These girls also enjoyed viewing the outcome of their filming.
Activities like these bring the language to life and allow the girls to put what they have learnt into context. Even the most reserved girls challenged themselves to step out of their comfort zone for the performances. Others were budding models and actresses in the making and all experienced their five minutes of fame.
Many commented on how using the green screen technology was 'the best lesson ever!'. EHS c'est chic! EHS c'est fantastique!
