In May 2022, Jiya in Year 9 joined the Air Cadets and the 485 Harborne and Quinton Squadron. In a very short space of time she has excelled in all areas and shown tremendous commitment, dedication and enthusiasm towards her role as a cadet.
We are delighted that she has achieved her First Aid Badges and her First Class Badge that now entitles her to be an official First Class Cadet.
She is also the first and only person thus far to have achieved her Blue Leadership Badge, something incredibly special. The Squadron have been impressed by her ability to lead other cadets with confidence, complete complex drills and exercises and excel in every area of her training.
Jiya recently attended RAF Cosford and even piloted her own plane, the Grobtutor, which is an incredible achievement. She is now working towards her Marksmanship award with a 177 Scorpion Air Rifle.
We would like to congratulate Jiya for her incredible work ethic and determination. We are really proud of her efforts and look forward to her future endeavours, as she is now an official corporal-in-training!
