Team EHS Storm ESSA Finals

Senior School

25 November 2022

Last Saturday saw the 64th English School Swimming Association (ESSA) Secondary Team Championships take place at the London Aquatic Centre. This also was the 2nd consecutive year that EHS had qualified for the event, but this year with not one, but two teams competing in the freestyle and medley relays.

The teams travelled down on Friday afternoon to make sure they were well rested for the morning’s warm up and the girls enjoyed a team meal together on Friday evening to help settle the nerves.

On Saturday morning, they were up bright and early ready for their familiarisation slot in the world famous Olympic Pool. Filled with excitement the girls took to the water, soaking up every moment in front of a huge crowd. The excitement soon turned to adrenaline and help the team achieve phenomenal final placing in all four races. The final results were as follows:
U13 ranked 15th in the country for freestyle relay and 17th for medley.
U15 ranked 17th in the country for freestyle and 20th for medley.

I think it’s fair to say that EHS is well and truly on the swimming map and we can’t wait to do it all again next year! Adela, Grace, Gracie, Isla, Jemima, Lily, Olivia, Tiffany and Willow have outdone themselves and should be incredibly proud of all they have achieved.
