Talent Shines in Festive Card Competition

Senior School | Sixth Form

15 December 2021

At half term, artists in Senior School were invited to enter a competition to design a Christmas card. The brief was deliberately kept completely open so that pupils could interpret it in any way they chose and we were delighted to have received many entries, demonstrating the diverse artistic talents in our student body.

Congratulations to Year 13's Marianne Kail and Year 7’s Summer Okafor whose clever creations have been selected as the winners.

Marianne's winning entry was a mixed media design which incorporated the use of watercolour, ink and pen. It is a vibrant design which incorporates traditional images such as the robin and school crest but also includes expressive drips and mark making.

Summer created a twist on the traditional image of a Christmas wreath by using pencil crayon to create bold, expressive colour and placing her design on a clean white background which gave the design a contemporary feel.

Well done, girls!
