Students complete Gold DofE Expedition

Senior School | Sixth Form

06 July 2018

Last week from the 21 - 25 June, the ‘Cheerios’ and ‘Pink Power Puffs' (a total of 11 girls) embarked on their Gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition.

This consisted of the girls camping for four days and nights, walking in total between 80 - 96km while carrying a 60 litre rucksack containing everything they would need for the next few days. After battling the intense heat, Cadair Idris and the 1,001 midges, the girls truly deserved the hot showers, cosy beds and warm hugs waiting for them at home. Well done, everyone!

Through achieving their Bronze, Silver and Gold DofE Awards, students have the unique opportunity to gain valuable life experience whilst developing essential work-ready skills and attributes such as resilience, confidence and determination. The award is much valued by employers and universities.
